We have an exciting opportunity for a Buyer to join our team! This role sits within the high growth Spirits category, within the wider Beer, Wine and Spirits area. You will be tasked with a diverse product portfolio across a dynamic and competitive market. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to build on existing buying skills in a fast paced and innovative category with an extensive supply base.
Your Role
As a Buyer within Spirits, you will work collaboratively with key suppliers and with internal stakeholders alike in order to deliver sales, pricing and growth ahead of the market while helping to manage the category P&L.
You will negotiate and deliver business plans as well as understand customers and implement strategies that meet their needs.
You will also need to understand, track & negotiate around key commodities and deliver cost to serve programmes with suppliers to ensure great value for our customers.
About you
- Previous experience working in a similar role
- Strong commercial awareness and being highly numerate, including P&L management
- An understanding of customer requirements, market trends and competitors
- The ability to spot and act on market opportunities quickly, delivering competitive advantage
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence a diverse, branded supplier base
- Experience leading and collaborating as part of a cross functional team
- Coaching and development skills, supporting and influencing others
- Result focus with a solution-based mindset
