About The Role
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you will lead the Partnerships function this role, you’ll build the overall partnerships strategy for the organization with a focus on scaling our brand and business through third party referral relationships that are relevant to our target customer. This is an exciting opportunity to build an important growth channel for the organization.
This role is open to candidates in Canada and the United States (with some exceptions), though occasional travel to Toronto may be required. For a successful Toronto-based candidate, the expectation is in‑office attendance 2x/week.
What You'll Do- Build the vision for referral partnerships at Fresh Books, with a focus on identifying the right organizations with which we should partner to drive acquisition at scale
- Evaluate the partner market landscape to recruit, onboard and operationalize each partnership working closely with internal teams at Fresh Books across product, technology, sales and marketing
- Lead two direct reports across partner acquisition and partner growth, ensuring they are engaged and delivering at the highest level
- Take a data‑informed approach to performance monitoring, leveraging our internal tools and partner relationship management platform to derive insights and take action to correct underperformance
- Set the strategy for partner incentives and ongoing partner management to build a motion that drives mutual benefit and efficient growth
- Maintain strong relationships with partners including regular business reviews where you work together to identify areas of opportunity to achieve shared objectives
- 8+ years of progressive experience in partnerships, channel management, business development, or adjacent growth roles within a SaaS, platform, or technology‑enabled business
- Deep referral, co‑marketing and co‑sell experience from a relevant industry
- Channel management, sales and/or business development experience
- Strong business and financial acumen with experience managing large partnerships and moving them along the curve to full revenue engagement
- Background in SaaS, platform and community building partnerships
- Strong analytical skills for market analysis, program measurement, and ROI assessment
- Experience leading teams through complex projects to successful outcomes
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
- A commitment to the connection between happy customers and engaged teams
- An innovative mind, with a drive to push boundaries, test new ideas, and implement creative approaches to work

At Fresh Books, we approach each individual’s compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.
The total annual compensation for this role ranges from CA $145,000 to CA $182,000, which may include participation in our incentive programs. Additionally, this position offers an equity grant and immediate enrollment in Fresh Books’ comprehensive benefits program, detailed below.
