Job DescriptionAs a Sales Manager, you will lead the sales community to success, driving HPE’s sales motion toward growth and profitability. You will recruit, develop, and retain a high‑performing team, orchestrate enterprise‑level customer engagements, and ensure a hunting mentality while maintaining a customer‑centric focus.
Responsibilities- Lead strategic direction and inspire the team to exceed goals while aligning with HPE’s vision.
- Manage a high‑performing sales team, recruiting, coaching, and retaining top talent.
- Drive a hunting mindset to identify and engage new logos.
- Engage key customer executives (CEO, CFO, COO) to understand business context and deliver HPE’s value proposition.
- Establish and maintain sales methodology, strategic and tactical sales planning at both segment and account levels.
- Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and outlooks for customers and market dynamics.
- Provide structured customer feedback, competitive assessments, and win/loss analysis to promote learning.
- Manage escalations and solutions to opportunities, ensuring a best‑in‑class customer experience.
- University or Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of sales experience with progressively higher quota achievement.
- 5+ years’ experience managing high‑performing sales teams preferred.
- Background in data services & storage or data center preferred.
- Deploy purpose and vision, translating HPE strategy into team goals.
- Coast through change, anticipating business shifts and guiding team adaptation.
- Inspire and energize team members to achieve goals and unlock potential.
- Build a high‑performing team through hiring, development, promotion, and retention.
- Coach, mentor, and develop talent, encouraging learning and navigating unusual deal situations.
- Act with integrity, winning the right way and upholding high ethical standards.
- Build long‑term customer/partner relationships, positioning HPE as a partner invested in outcomes.
- Maintain HPE portfolio knowledge, articulating value propositions and competitive differentiation.
- Stay current on IT industry developments and technology trends with potential impacts to customers.
- Understand industry drivers, trends, and best practices to tailor messaging and solutions to customers.
- Demonstrate mastery of customer, competitor, and market analysis, leveraging analytics for winning tactics.
- Deploy sales methodology to maximize coverage and customer engagement.
- Drive results (pipeline, forecast, revenue, profit) in alignment with company strategy.
- Understand business interoperations and impact on customer, partner, and HPE achievement and KPIs.
- Participate in and influence investment, pricing, and resource allocation decisions for sales and marketing.
- Typically manage approximately 8‑10 sales representatives.

Annual salary range: USD 216,000 – 507,000 (Texas). Target‑level compensation mix: 60%, 40% variable.
