About the team: The Control Operations team monitors key Underwriting and Claims controls, reports findings, and supports stakeholders to improve the control environment using insights from monitoring. The team partners with Underwriting trading teams, Group Claims Team, Operations, and Shared Services.
Key Relationships: Underwriting and Claims Operations (UCO) Management, Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance.
Job Summary: The purpose of the role is to drive effective control monitoring, focusing on the “so what” and using insights to improve Beazley’s control environment. The role requires partnering with the business and proactively supporting stakeholders by providing overarching themes and trends, identifying gaps/risks and collaborating to mitigate them.
Key Responsibilities- Performs review of policies and claims for compliance with established protocol.
- Perform assigned control monitoring and reporting tasks, at direction of the Manager, Controls Operations.
- Build effective working relationships within the team, UCO management and other key contacts.
- Perform tasks in accordance with documented procedures and comply with established standards for timeliness, quality, professionalism and accuracy.
- Manage daily tasks to ensure business needs are consistently met.
- Prepare reports and presentations using advanced data analytics tools to enhance reporting and insights.
- Monitor team’s mailbox and ensure emails are acted in timely fashion.
- Ensure procedure documentation for assigned tasks is kept up to date and reviewed annually.
- Participate in cross training within the team as per business needs.
- Ability to apply standards to underwriting/claims monitoring, comprehend principles and practicalities.
- Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail; diligent in maintaining records and documenting decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Advanced-level Excel (advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, Power Query, VBA) and Power BI for data visualization and dashboard creation.
- Experience in Financial Services, preferably within the insurance sector.
- Experience in risk management, compliance or audit role a plus.
- Task-focused, self-motivated and flexible.
- Consistently professional approach; able to successfully interact with managers and support personnel.
- Positive, enthusiastic and service-oriented.
- Comply with Beazley procedures, policies and regulations including the Code of Conduct which incorporates the FCA and PRA Conduct.
- Undertake training on Beazley policies and procedures as delivered by line manager, Culture & People or assurance teams.

- Ensure all interactions with customers deliver a fair outcome, including having the right products for their needs.
- Comply with any specific responsibilities necessary for your role as outlined by line manager or assurance teams and keep up to date with developments.

Salary: The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000-$77,000 per year plus discretionary annual bonus. Salary will be tailored to successful individual’s location and experience.
