About OpplyOpply automates the entire ingredient ordering process by partnering with the world’s biggest suppliers, providing an AI‑driven platform that orders ingredients when and where you need them, and offering data‑led credit that allows brands to sell goods before paying for ingredients.
What You’ll Be DoingAs a Procurement Executive, you will play a key role in expanding Opply’s supplier network and ingredient categories, directly driving revenue growth and margin performance through our Group Purchasing offering. This junior, hands‑on role focuses on identifying, onboarding, and negotiating with suppliers whose products customers can order via the platform.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Sourcing & Growth
- Identify and onboard new suppliers with ingredients that can be sold through Opply.
- Source and compare supplier quotes in response to buyer demand, ensuring pricing and terms support profitable orders and deliver value to customers.
- Negotiate core commercial terms with suppliers, including pricing and minimum order quantities.
- Enabling Orders & Margin
- Present buyers with clear, competitive supplier options to support quote‑to‑order conversion.
- Structure deals that allow Opply to generate margin while remaining competitive.
- Support the conversion of sourcing activity into repeatable orders on the platform.
- Supplier Onboarding & Technical Readiness
- Collect and maintain essential technical and compliance information from suppliers, including product specifications and certifications.
- Support compliance with buyer requirements such as organic certification and GFSI standards, ensuring suppliers are order‑ready.
- Supplier Relationships & Insight
- Act as a key contact for suppliers during onboarding and trading.
- Track supplier pricing, availability, and certification coverage to inform category expansion decisions.
- Track supplier performance (e.g., OTIF) to ensure strong performance.
- 1–3 years’ experience in the food or beverage industry, ideally in a role involving suppliers, sourcing, procurement, or commercial operations.
- Experience working with ingredient suppliers and handling supplier pricing, quotes or product information.
- Basic understanding of food industry requirements (product specifications, certifications such as Organic, GFSI) and compliance documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness, with an interest in pricing, margins, and supplier negotiations.
- Comfortable managing multiple supplier conversations and coordinating quotes in a fast‑moving environment.
- Clear, confident communicator who can build relationships with external suppliers.
- Hands‑on and execution‑focused, comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting things done.
- Detail‑oriented, with a sharp eye for anything that doesn’t look right.
- Proactive and accountable, taking ownership of problems and seeing them through to resolution.
- Commercially curious, interested in suppliers, pricing, and how good sourcing drives growth.
- Comfortable juggling multiple conversations and work streams in a fast‑moving environment.
- Clear, professional communicator with suppliers and internal teams alike.
