Our Retail Business Group is seeking an Account Specialist responsible for delivering insights and increasing data usage within a key, multi-industry retailer partner. The role involves supporting the strategic and tactical needs of the retailer’s merchant and marketing teams, helping them make data-driven decisions using NPD data. The position focuses on data mining and analysis for insights and suggested actions. It is client-facing, requiring relationship building across the organization.
This position is based in Seattle, WA, with remote work options and regular onsite client visits.
Responsibilities:- Build and maintain strong relationships with the retailer through daily servicing and engagement
- Provide market performance reports, data analysis, insights, and customer support
- Design and deliver concise, actionable presentations
- Manage projects from initiation to completion, providing regular updates
- Respond to client requests using existing databases, new analyses, and industry knowledge
- Collaborate with client contacts, NPD’s Account Managers, and Sr. Director to integrate data into decision-making
- Identify opportunities to grow revenue through additional services or projects
- Offer proactive recommendations and business analysis
- Utilize internal resources to resolve client issues
- Assist in troubleshooting data quality issues using client systems
- Provide training and support for NPD reporting tools as needed
- Track and measure business results from the retailer’s use of NPD data
- Develop knowledge of various retail industries
- 2-5+ years of experience in client service, analysis, retail inventory planning, merchant analysis, retail buying, market research, POS, or consumer data
- Proven ability to extract, format, and analyze data to support decision-making
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent presentation skills for diverse audiences
- Proactive team interaction skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of NPD software or other database platforms is a plus
- Willingness to travel less than 5%
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
