Position: Sr. Buyer (prior experience purchasing in industrial distribution required)

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for
  • New Product Introduction Support: supplier negotiations and contracts for product launches, manage trial orders, timelines, and early‑stage supply stability.
  • Supplier Evaluation: monitor supplier performance, attend review meetings, document issues and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Inventory & KPI Management: optimize item settings and maintain inventory service levels, support replenishment, stock‑outs, and cost control initiatives.
  • Vendor Management: build vendor relationships, negotiate cost/value improvements, resolve issues, and manage contracts with the Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Organizational Engagement: collaborate cross‑functionally and model high‑performance culture, engage with sales teams to understand field and customer needs.
What you will bring to this role
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, or supply chain management.
  • Self‑starter who can perform in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective in managing priorities and working time.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaborator who can create authentic relationships with colleagues.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Keen self‑awareness and alignment with a workplace culture that is built on humanistic values and continuous improvement.
  • Adept and interested in understanding business needs and working to achieve the company’s vision and goals.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Critical thinker who is highly analytical and adept at communicating insights derived from analyses.
  • Effective organizer and project manager who can balance project work with urgent day‑to‑day tasks.
  • Bilingual in English and French (verbal and written) is an asset.
  • Ability to travel locally to vendors and/or with sales force (with occasional travel across Canada) and work flexible hours as needed.
