Salary: £38,682

Contract Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Location: Leeds Office or Hybrid (Remote/Office-based)

About

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor to support the delivery of efficient and compliant procurement and contract management processes across their organisation. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing expert advice to stakeholders, supporting procurement planning, contract negotiation, and ensuring best practices in line with public sector procurement legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Provide professional advice on procurement and contracting matters.
  • Communicate procurement legislation clearly and support compliance.
  • Deliver internal training and presentations on procurement best practices.
  • Manage sensitive contractual discussions with tact and diplomacy.
  • Evaluate business cases and recommend optimal procurement routes.
  • Design and support tender evaluation processes.
  • Analyse contract returns and produce reports to support planning and monitoring.
  • Conduct performance reviews for contracted services and Service Level Agreements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation's procurement plan.
  • Assess and manage risk across procurement projects and contracts.
  • Prepare tender documentation and manage publication to relevant portals.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and contract records.
  • Develop and implement procurement policies and governance frameworks.
  • Support contract performance reviews and financial assessments.
  • Assist in achieving value for money through effective procurement strategies.
  • Deliver training sessions across the organisation on procurement and contracting.
  • Participate in ongoing development through formal and informal training opportunities.
Requirements
  • Expertise in EU/public procurement law through training or equivalent experience.
  • Digital/ IT experience.
  • Strong contract management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills.
