Spiro is hiring a Director of Business Development to join our NBD Sales team. The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving revenue by generating and securing opportunities/RFP's with brands who endeavor to engage their audience at trade shows, live events and permanent installations. This individual is a self‑motivated "people connector" who thrives on establishing relationships, uncovering new business opportunities, and strategically positioning Spiro as partner.

Responsibilities- Initiate contact with potential and current customers to generate and qualify leads, promote Spiro's program exhibit management capabilities, and identify sales opportunities.
- Responsible for prospecting a wide range of potential exhibitors across multiple industries using our extensive database and marketing resources.
- Seek and meet potential prospects by growing and leveraging your existing professional network.
- Research and build relationships with new exhibitors and partners to understand their marketing goals and objectives.
- Cultivate and establish strong, trusted relationships with prospects to fully understand their requirements and align our offerings to their needs.
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline in Salesforce, managing the top part of the funnel to track and convert enough qualified opportunities to achieve our growth targets.
- Attend industry and networking events to build a strong profile and presence in relevant markets.
- Lead the proposal process, developing custom solutions to meet your prospects' needs, objectives, and budget.
- Organize and plan sales presentations and overall prospecting approaches, sharing best practices with the team.
- Work with the Strategy and Insights team to leverage macro trends, industry data, and audience insights to build a compelling case for potential exhibitors.
- Act as a team player who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and collaborates effectively with internal team members from Marketing, Program Operations, and Account Management.
- Regularly review key performance metrics with your manager to ensure success and be familiar with all conversion rates and drivers of performance.
- Proactively seek and share new ideas, insights, and recommendations to better engage with new clients.
- Use knowledge of the market and our competitors to develop messaging describing our program's value proposition and key differentiators.

- 5+ years of experience working in a sales environment, preferably in trade show where you have generated results in building a client base.
- Team player who is energized by collaborative environments and understands the importance of relationship‑building (internal and external).
- Ability to effectively communicate with impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills and a willingness to continuously improve public speaking abilities.
- Ability to quickly grasp concepts, operational practices, and business drivers.
- Proactive problem‑solver who anticipates and addresses problems before they arise.
- Excellent time management, multi‑tasking, and follow‑through skills.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or a similar CRM for pipeline management.
