Position

Reports to:

Executive Speaking Team Leads

Position Overview:

Over the next three months, we would like to see the ES intern to become an expert in the below and help keep the team streamlined by:

  • Updating the Award tracker and Conference on a regular basis
  • Assisting the internal team TB doc agenda on Thursdays
  • Media monitoring for relevant conferences, awards and power lists that will be important for the team to pitch
  • Monitoring submission deadlines and reminding the team
Requirements:
  • Interns are required to be in person at JBC’s NYC office on designated in-office days
  • Must be available 2.5 days a week (JBC will assign a weekly schedule based on candidate availability + division needs)
  • Full-day hours: 9:30 am EST - 4:45 pm EST
  • Friday Hours (Early Closures): 9 am - 2 pm EST
Responsibilities:
  • Media monitoring - very first thing in the morning
  • Intern will work closely with the other interns to monitor daily press outlets including WWD, Glossy + BOF
  • Update ES tracker with feedback
  • Monitor TBD events for updated information
  • Assist ES team with conference + awards tracking
  • Create Google docs of upcoming award applications
  • Research + vetting award/conference opportunities
  • Provide overall support/admin help across ES division
  • Assist the team with brand/founder audits
  • Familiarity with Muck Rack, Rocket Reach and Canva for clipping (if necessary)
About You:
  • A rising college senior or post-graduate individual looking to kickstart a career in the PR industry
  • Enthusiastic about all things PR and media relations
  • Naturally proactive, with outstanding attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills
  • A people person, skilled at building and nurturing relationships, with proven experience in supportive team management
  • Ability to both balance many priorities and act resourcefully, all while maintaining a positive attitude

Time Commitment:
  • Overall program duration is based on the semester length
  • Minimum of 2.5 days per week at max 19.5 hours without any class interruption. Hours listed above, schedules will be customized based on individual division schedules.
  • Hourly pay - $17.00/hour
  • 1-hour lunch breaks (½ days = 30 minute lunch breaks).
  • Use of a company computer
  • Monthly stipend toward commuter expenses
