Women Transforming Cities aims to radically shift social, economic, and political power to equity‑deserving groups to reshape who cities are built by and for so that communities' needs are met and everyone can belong, participate, and thrive.
We work at the community and systems level. At the community level, we build the civic skills and power of individuals who have been historically excluded from civic processes, delivering training on intersectional feminism, community organizing, engagement and campaigning, and collaborating with community groups and front‑line organizations to advocate on equity issues.
We work to make cities more equitable at the systems level by developing resources to support civic engagement and accelerate action on equity issues, amplifying the priorities of equity‑deserving communities in city halls, challenging local policies that harm marginalized communities, and holding decision‑makers accountable to their commitments to equity‑deserving communities.
