Position Summary
The CSFS Urban & Community Forestry (UCF) team is hiring a Student Hourly Program Assistant to support statewide UCF initiatives through high-quality data entry, administrative coordination, and general program support. This role helps the team deliver training, outreach, and technical assistance to Colorado communities by maintaining accurate records, organizing program materials, and assisting with day-to-day operations.

EssentialJob Duties
- Organize digital files using established naming conventions and folder structures; support version control.
- Draft, format, and proofread basic communications and program documents (e.g., outreach emails, sign-in sheets, simple summaries).
- Help prepare materials (handouts, slide support, packets), manage check-in processes, and support follow-up tasks (surveys, attendance logs, completion confirmations).
- Provide responsive, professional customer service to partners and participants via email/phone as assigned.
- Primarily office/remote computer-based work; occasional in-person support for events may be required.
- Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods, including repetitive typing.
- Reliable internet access for remote work (if hybrid/remote is approved).
- Occasional travel within Colorado may be requested for events (optional/position-dependent).
- University or college student (associate, undergraduate or graduate) in good academic standing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), GIS programs, and/or Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
- Coursework or interest in forestry, natural resources, GIS, environmental studies, public administration, or community engagement (not required).
- Experience with data entry, databases/CRMs, or spreadsheet-based tracking systems.
- Familiarity with basic data cleaning practices (standardization, deduplication, validation).
- Experience supporting events, trainings, or customer-facing program operations.
- Comfort learning new software/tools (e.g., survey platforms, shared file systems, program tracking tools).
$17.00-$22.00
