THE POSITION

DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
The main responsibilities of the Education Administrative Associate relate to the review and resolution of data discrepancies to the IDEA‑B and other state grant process management, gifted support, out‑of‑state placements, Act 16 Legislative Report, and wards of state extended school year (ESY) payments. This position serves as the website administrator for the BSE. In this role, you will facilitate and plan annual fiscal reviews of intermediate units.
You will have the opportunity to analyze contract budget revisions, budget amendments, and reports submitted by local education agencies, ensuring compliance with statutes and regulations. You can expect to provide support for the gifted advisor, prepare gifted monitoring budget and answer routine gifted questions.
- Perform administrative functions for Pennsylvania students with disabilities placed in facilities outside of Pennsylvania
- Provide phone assistance to school districts, intermediate units and other Department/Commonwealth personnel regarding out‑of‑state procedures
- Prepare responses to correspondence assigned by Assistant Bureau Director and Division Chief
- Work closely with Press and Communication associates and PDE Web Master

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with 60‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part‑time, in‑office (1) day per week – Tuesdays;
Telework (4) days per week – Monday, Wednesday–Friday. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Two years of professional experience in education or educational administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
