General purpose: Student staff support for the Undergraduate Admission office.
Summary of
Essential Functions:
- Supports Undergraduate Admission Office through clerical/office work.
- Gives UG Admission Campus Tours
- Assists with UG Admission Events
- Typical shift length is 4 hours (for a half-day shift) or 7.5 hours (for a whole day shift)
- Oversees the completion of Student Ambassadors' daily tasks and training
Campus Visitor Experience
- Greet and provide information to campus visitors at the UGA front desk
- Learns how to give 60-90 tours of the MICA campus for daily events and special events to prospective students and their families, and continuously trains self and other tour guides to improve quality and knowledge of MICA's programs and facilities.
- Coordinate and supervise campus tour guide coverage schedule
- Assist the UG Admission staff in hosting recruitment events by helping with check-in/registration and other event-related duties and tasks.
- Answer phones and general admission-related inquiries, take requests and contact information for campus tours and portfolio reviews/meetings, take messages for counseling staff, and sit at the front desk/reception to relieve the Guest Services Coordinator during breaks and lunch.
- Data/Records: helps pack box requests of admission materials for traveling counselors; occasionally helps process informational and yield mailings by stuffing and labeling envelopes and matching names and addresses; sorts and alphabetizes loose credentials for applications; creates application folders.
- Trains Student Ambassadors on office tasks and etiquette during guest experiences
- Leads Student Ambassadors through daily checklist items, ensuring completion and answering questions when possible.
- Remote Work: may be available if the office supports virtual assignments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Learns/memorizes tour script/facts
- Enjoys talking to and working with prospective students and families
- Has good customer service skills
- Is physically able to walk for extended periods through the MICA campus, including stairs to give campus tours
- Knowledge of MICA's programs, facilities, and student life, as well as the MICA Undergraduate Admission office and application/admission procedures.
- Possesses practical organizational/problem-solving skills, strong public speaking skills, professional office demeanor, and excellent customer service.
- Current full-time degree-seeking student in good academic standing at MICA
- Must be a current Student Ambassador
- Interview is required
- Unusual Circumstances related to the position: occasional weekend work and evening hours are required for Special Events. Access to personal computer/laptop and Internet access is required for occasional virtual events and/or remote work.
