About the Position
Come join our team! The Saint Paul City Council has a City Council Executive Assistant I position we are looking to fill. This position is responsible for performing complex administrative support duties and providing exceptional customer service to Saint Paul residents, Council members, and Council central staff.
What You Can Expect to Do- Perform expert level office work for the Saint Paul City Council.
- Address the needs of city constituents and other external contacts that ensures excellent customer service on a range of requests.
- Utilize a variety of technical tools including social media for the completion of daily work assignments.
- Provide office related administrative support, completing information compilation, data management actions, and City department information requests.
- Identify appropriate actions and prioritise assignments for Council office work, City department needs, and constituent requests.
- Schedule meetings and coordinate the Council member's calendar based on an understanding of priorities and obligations.
- Support City Council meetings and legislative hearings, coordinate required materials, take notes, and arrange technical support.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Information Specific to this PositionThis position is located at 15 W Kellogg Blvd, St Paul, MN 55102, Suite 320. You will work a regular daytime schedule Monday through Thursday in the office with Friday being an optional work from home day.

Position RequirementsFive years of progressively responsible and independent clerical/administrative experience to include organizing and assessing complex materials, evaluating and resolving problems, responding to public inquiries and requests, applying policies and procedures, and assisting with projects and reporting.
- Must have three years of customer service experience.
- Up to two years of related, post high school coursework obtained from an office administration program can be substituted for up to two years of clerical/administrative experience.
- An ability to speak/write in languages other than English such as:
Spanish, Hmong, or Somali. - Experience working with staff and the public from diverse backgrounds and communities.
- Expert level verbal, written (including minute taking), social media, and internet skills.
