We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized part-time Credentialing Assistant to support our credentialing team. This role is responsible for assisting with provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a behavioral healthcare environment.

Schedule

Part-time (20–25 hours per week)
Flexible schedule during regular business hours

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of initial and re-credentialing applications for clinicians
  • Maintain and update provider files, including NPI numbers, and credentialing databases
  • Track expiration dates for licenses, certifications, registrations, and trainings
  • Verify provider credentials, including licenses, board certifications, education, training, and work history
  • Communicate with providers and administrative staff to obtain required documentation and signatures
  • Follow up with funding sources regarding credentialing status
  • Maintain training systems, internal and external, for new clinicians including pulling completed training certificates
  • Support audits and reporting needs as requested
  • Perform general administrative duties related to credentialing
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and working with technology
  • Comfortable with learning and working across multiple credentialing software or provider databases
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of healthcare credentialing processes and regulatory requirements is a plus
  • Candidates must reside in the state of Michigan, with preference given to those located within driving distance of one of our clinic locations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. In addition, this position requires the ability to open filing cabinets and bend as necessary and remain seated at a normal desk for extended periods of time. Employees are required to ensure they are otherwise standing up, moving, stretching or prepared to be as active as necessary to preserve their health and welfare.

Position Expected Hours of Work/Environment

This is a part-time position. Typical hours of operations are between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday-Friday. Work hours can be flexible as long as pre-approved by supervisor.

This is a remote position. The Company will not provide any home office equipment.

Travel

This position may be required to travel to Pathways PAC locations and geographic locations from time to time, including travel to Pathways locations for training.
