Overview

Join the University of Alaska Human Resources team as an Administrative Coordinator, where you’ll play an important role in a dynamic, service‑oriented HR environment. In this administrative position, you will serve as the central coordination point for the HR office in Anchorage—supporting leadership, managing complex workflows, and ensuring smooth daily operations across HR functions. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organized, proactive professional who excels in fast‑paced settings and enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and supporting partners at all levels of the organization.

You’ll provide advanced administrative support to HR executives, oversee front‑office operations, coordinate meetings and events, manage travel and confidential documents, and ensure seamless logistical support for HR teams. If you are detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, technologically savvy, and thrive in a role where no two days are the same, this position offers a meaningful way to contribute to a systemwide HR team that supports employees across the entire University of Alaska.

Responsibilities

To thrive in this role, the successful candidate will demonstrate advanced knowledge of professional office and administrative practices, along with the ability to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgment. The individual must be able to coordinate multiple complex projects, manage shifting priorities, and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to facilitate effective information flow among internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge of UA policies and administrative systems—or the ability to learn them quickly—is required, along with proficiency in Google Workspace and tools such as Docu Sign and Board Docs. The role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across HR functions, including support of Labor & Employee Relations and Customer Service staff in Anchorage. Experience supporting senior executives or complex administrative units is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of progressively responsible office/administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position Details

This is a full‑time, non‑exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package.
