Job OverviewWe are looking to recruit a Clerk/Receptionist to cover two busy reception areas and a general office within the Hospital.
The applicant must have excellent and clear communication skills, including verbal and listening skills, as this role is the first point of contact for patients, staff and visitors to the Hospital.
This role is one of a flexible team of staff who support Reception and General Office functions. It is a rewarding and very busy post.
The post is no fixed working pattern, covering between 8am and 8pm Monday to Friday on a flexible rota.
Flexibility is key to this role as the team support each other in covering annual leave and sickness absence.
Once fully trained the successful application will be expected to work on their own.
Main duties of the jobThe role is on a flexible rota with no fixed pattern to cover office and reception hours between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
We are the first point of contact for visitors, patients, staff, contractors dealing with but not limited to:
- Telephone & Email enquiries
- Directional enquiries
- Accepting and directing deliveries
- Liaising with all staff and departments across the Hospital.
- Recording, sorting and disposing of lost property.
- Creating s and issuing door access.
- Using systems to input data for the car park ANPR.
- Raise orders and receipt invoices for payment.
Full training will be provided
Note the applicant must be able to meet the 8pm shift rota, and be flexible to assist in covering 6 weeks annual leave.

Providing administration support and general reception cover, you need to be friendly and flexible. Good keyboard skills together with an excellent telephone manner are essential as are good interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer care.

Estates & Facilities are responsible for the Hospital site from grounds to equipment maintenance. The Aintree site employs over 700 staff within Estates & Facilities and the administrative team are key to this.
This role will work with colleagues in Medical Engineering, Domestics, Catering, Laundry, Maintenance, Porters, Transport, Sustainability, Travel and Health & Safety.
Person specification Skills- Good organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office
- RSA 2 (or equivalent)
- NVQ2 (or equivalent)
- Reception experience
- Customer care experience
