Contractor Finance

Summary

Position provides for assistance and support to contractors/drivers with settlement process, fuel cards and various required payments. Provides assistance in processing carrier loads for related department. This role largely focuses on the processing and payment of various loads for contractors.

• Communicate with drivers via phone and in person:
  • Explain settlements
  • Assist with solving problems that arise
• Answer various questions and/or transfer to the party best able to assist
• Work with Brokerage Department to solve carrier load problems, pay carrier loads, and communicate with Rate Department about unpaid carrier loads
• Manage contractor/driver fuel cards, including issuing, monitoring, and turning off when problems arise
• Administrator of online settlement website
• Meet with new contractors/drivers during orientation to explain and answer questions regarding settlement process and finance department
• Set up child support deductions for contractors/drivers upon receipt of court orders
• Set up and enter new contractor/driver paperwork into computer system, including authorization forms, direct deposit, and online settlement forms
• Perform other duties, tasks, or responsibilities as assigned

• High School Diploma or equivalent;
  Associates Degree, or equivalent work experience
• Excellent phone etiquette
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Professional appearance
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Excellent customer service skills
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
• Able to multi-task

• Constantly in a stationary sitting position and occasionally will move around

The essential functions of the role depend on in-person oversight, coaching, and real-time collaboration with management and operations staff. Remote work would remove the employee from direct supervision and eliminate the immediate coaching, escalation support, and call monitoring that the position requires. Because these functions are essential to the role, and remote work would not allow the employee to perform them effectively, working from home is not a reasonable or effective accommodation.
