Church Support Coordinator (Part-time, 20 hours pw)

Support for the mission & ministry of an active community church in MK. Salary is pro-rata. Full details on our website.

Role

Summary:
  • Primarily based on the church premises in a shared office space, with flexibility to work from home
  • A critical part of the team, working alongside and providing support to the ministry of the Church through its Minister (Team Leader), leaders, members and activities
  • Outward facing, providing a welcome and initial point of contact for those visiting the church premises
  • Some requirement for liaison with leaders and members on Sunday mornings.

The following is a list of roles for which the Church Support Coordinator is responsible. This list is not exhaustive; it shows key areas with examples of tasks involved.

General Administration
  • General office tasks and correspondence (email, post, answerphone), filing, shredding, computer back up
  • Producing notice sheets/rotas etc. including monthly update email and weekly Sunday Morning email
  • Ensuring completion of Baptist Union Annual Return and the CCLI licence reporting
  • Managing Photocopier rental and supplies
  • Producing resources for events – e.g. label creation, trimming/cutting
Communication
  • Point of contact and welcome visitors to the building
  • Keeping internal and external Church noticeboards updated
  • Creating and producing advertising materials (posters/flyers/social media posts etc.)
  • Develop Social Media engagement, including basic editing of You Tube content
  • Liaison with leaders and groups across the church
Building & Facilities
  • Regularly check and report any problems in the building e.g., leaks, damage to equipment etc.
  • Contacting appropriate contractors for work and arranging visits/access
  • Security - oversight of keys and key code boxes
  • Checking access to all entrances – gritting paths when there is snow etc
  • Organising storage and helping the fight against clutter
  • Light cleaning of office and adjacent area on rota basis
Room Bookings
  • Managing room bookings process – for internal and external groups
  • Arranging access/lock up, and assist with room set up where necessary
Events
  • Admin and organisation for occasional special events, e.g. conference days
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate, particularly using Microsoft Office applications. Must be able to use Excel and create flyers etc. for church events
  • Ability to work with IT systems and solve basic issues without external support
  • Ability to set up audio-visual display equipment / learn a basic sound system for use at ad hoc events
  • Able to update church social media channels and website with relevant information
