Overview
Manchester Met's Careers & Employability Service is looking to recruit a team of Careers Calling Assistants to support the service to strengthen its relationship with recent graduates and offer support to those who may need it. The role is an opportunity for you to gain invaluable experience that can be directly applied to future careers once you leave the university. The role will enable the successful candidates to deliver support on key Careers Service activities.
Your main activity will be:
- Contacting recent graduates by phone to find out what they are doing post-graduation
- Helping us make sure they know about the support and benefits available to them as alumni of Manchester Met
- Updating spreadsheet and form records of call outcomes
- Excellent attention to detail in data input and administration tasks.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; including being confident on the telephone and great at verbal rapport building.
- Genuine interest in students, graduates and Manchester Met outcomes.
- Interest in developing basic research skills such as data administration and Excel.
The role is a remote working position for a period of up to 4 weeks. Interviews will be on Microsoft Teams Monday 16 February 2026 or Wednesday 18 February 2026. If successful, the role will start Monday 23 February 2026, with a full day of in person training on campus on Monday 23 February 2026.
