Overview
This is a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join the Diabetes and Endocrinology Outpatients Department, in an acute city centre hospital. This is a varied role which will allow the successful candidate to gain administrative experience in all areas of a busy Outpatient department. Working in a fast-paced environment as part of a large, friendly and supportive team, you will draw on your experience and skills to effectively communicate with patients, clinicians and peers to support the effective management of a range of administrative tasks.

This is a full-time position 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, based at Bristol Royal Infirmary, with a view to moving to both on site and home based once training is completed.
This role will work alongside the Diabetic Nurse Specialist Team to support with administrative tasks relating to Diabetic Pump Systems, and as such will give a fantastic insight into careers within the NHS.
- Arrange and facilitate the management of pump and specialist technology start and renewal sessions, liaising with individual representatives, making amendments when necessary, dealing with cancellations.
- Ensuring diabetes nurse follow up is arranged for patients following their insulin pump starts.
- Work with the Diabetes Nurse Specialist Team to record new pump starts and upgrades into an electronic database.
- Event management in the organisation of meetings, specifically pump introduction sessions and technology training sessions, co-ordinating with the nursing team to ensure these are utilised.
- Ensure all relevant pre-information is sent to patients prior to any training sessions.
- Ensure all relevant post information is sent to patients, along with a standard template letter to the patients GP with support from the Diabetes Specialist Nurse team.
