Overview
Join the heart of Kenai Peninsula College as our next Administrative Assistant in the Director’s Office! We are seeking a proactive, community‑minded professional to serve as the first point of contact for our office. In this vital role you will do more than assist in daily operations—you will help coordinate signature events like Commencement and Convocation, support faculty and staff recruitment, and facilitate the work of the College Council.
ResponsibilitiesAs front‑line representative for the Director’s Office you will provide high‑level administrative support to students, faculty, staff, and community partners. You will manage front‑office operations, support recruiting using UA hiring systems, maintain sensitive digital records, serve as Notary Public, coordinate campus signature events, oversee departmental purchasing and travel, manage external room/event scheduling, and act as Secretary for the College Council to ensure clear communication between leadership and the broader campus community.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 3 years of office/administrative experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience (e.g., an associate’s degree plus one year of experience).
- Unrestricted Driver’s License with a driving record that meets UAA requirements.
- Alaska Notary or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
This part‑time, 32 hours per week, non‑exempt regular staff position is located on the Kenai Peninsula College campus in Soldotna, Alaska. The nominee will receive a competitive salary (Grade 77, starting at $23.38 per hour) and a full employee benefits package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
The position has the option of working reduced hours during the summer months beginning May 2027.
