We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and organised Secretary to Executive to join the People team to support one of Nationwide’s People Directors and the Director of Talent Management & Inclusion.

This is a pivotal role where you’ll manage complex inboxes, diaries, schedules, travel arrangements, and provide exceptional organisational support to help our leaders deliver at their best.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a similar role at senior level, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings confidence, discretion, and a proactive approach to everything they do.

This role is perfect for someone who is highly organised and able to juggle multiple priorities with ease. Proactive and resourceful, anticipating needs and solving problems before they arise, a strong communicator, building trusted relationships across the business while being flexible and resilient, able to adapt quickly and stay calm under pressure.

At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time,
based at either our Swindon or London office. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.

If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.

What you’ll be doing

Managing complex diaries and inboxes, prioritising and responding where appropriate will be a key requirement of this role as will coordinating travel arrangements and forward planning for meetings and events.

Supporting communications, committee meetings, and external event preparation while handling confidential matters with integrity and discretion will also be a daily requirement as will managing expenses, invoices, and People-related administration.

You will also provide basic IT support and maintain organisational materials while preparing agendas, minutes, and tracking actions for meetings. Covering for peers when required will also be needed.
