As a Senior Ministerial Visits and Events Manager to the Home Secretary, you will be planning and delivering high quality private, public and media facing events, visits and overseas trips. You will need to be resilient and able to manage competing priorities, often working at pace to deliver visits at short notice.

You will also need to be familiar with the domestic political and media landscape and the Home Secretary’s priorities in order to ensure visit programs support objectives of HMG.

The team is a flexible resource, and the post-holder will be expected to support other colleagues during busy periods.

  • Work closely with Ministers, Special Advisors, Private Office, communications and policy colleagues from within the Home Office and across government to deliver visits and events.
  • Proactively build peer-to-peer and senior relationships, both within the department and with external partners, to ensure the successful delivery of Ministerial visits and events and to help support future visit opportunities.
  • Work as part of a team, as well as individually, to proactively maintain the team’s planning, evaluation and business tools and ensure these are up to date and accurate.
