Job Description

Permanent | Home‑based | Part Time (20 hours)

Here at Ocado Logistics, it’s our mission to provide an outstanding customer experience for our partners, developing groundbreaking technology, opening multiple sites at pace, and building exciting new partnerships – changing the way the world shops, for good. We’re the powerhouse behind Ocado Retail and Morrisons online – a fast‑moving, tech‑led logistics network that spans high‑tech Customer Fulfilment Centres, bustling delivery spokes, and corporate offices across the UK.

With over 16,000 colleagues – from drivers and personal shoppers to software engineers and strategists – how we communicate matters more than ever.

Are you a highly organised administrator who thrives on accuracy, structure and getting the details right?

We’re looking for a People Co‑ordinator to join the Ocado Logistics People team on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative experience who is confident in managing processes, handling sensitive information, and supporting colleagues in a fast‑paced environment.

You’ll play a key role in supporting absence management across our Logistics operation, providing accurate, timely, administrative support and acting as a helpful point of contact for employees.

What you’ll be doing
  • Monitoring, recording and reporting employee absences
  • Managing incoming calls to the absence line and accurately logging information on HR systems
  • Processing medical certificates and related documentation
  • Monitoring the out‑of‑hours absence line and taking appropriate action
  • Providing clear guidance to employees on absence processes
  • Supporting AWOL reporting and follow‑up actions
  • Assisting with wider team activities, including KPI tracking and ad‑hoc administrative tasks
What we’re looking for

This role would suit someone who brings strong administration skills, ideally gained in a busy office, HR, customer service or operations environment.

You’ll have:
  • Proven experience in an administrative or coordinator role
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • A logical, organised approach to managing information and processes
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a fast‑paced setting
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information

Previous HR or People team experience is helpful but not essential — strong admin capability is key.

Working hours

This is a home‑based, part‑time role (20 hours per week), worked as:
Weekdays:
Three 4‑hour afternoon shifts
Sunday:
One 9‑hour shift (7:00am–4:00pm)

The selection process will consist of one stage:
a competency‑based interview, focusing on organisation, communication, attention to detail and handling sensitive information
a short practical task, designed to reflect the type of administrative work you’d do in the role.

What You Can Expect in Return

At Ocado, we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported. You’ll join a collaborative, inclusive culture with a competitive benefits package, including flexible working, wellbeing support, generous leave, pension contributions, private medical cover, and a wide range of employee perks.

  • Flexible working: 30 days ‘work from anywhere’ policy
  • Wellbeing:
Dedicated wellbeing apps and Employee Assistance Programme
  • Holiday: 25 days annual leave, rising to 27 after 5 years (with buy option)
  • Pension:
    Up to 7% employer contribution
  • Private medical insurance
  • Family‑friendly policies:
    Enhanced parental leave
  • Financial benefits:

Interest‑free season ticket loans and Cycle to Work scheme
  • Transport:
    Free shuttle bus services
  • Share schemes:
Opportunity to share in Ocado’s success
  • Protection:
    Income Protection and Life Insurance

Ocado Group is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to treating all applicants fairly and equally.
