Job Title:

AFP Manager SUMO

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Status: Temporary Full-Time (1 Year Contract)

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Chair, Vice-Chair, AFP Director, AFP Manager, and sub-committees within SUMO. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and discretion.

The administrative coordinator role will be primarily performed from home; however, the successful applicant must be able to work onsite occasionally when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents including minutes and agendas.
  • Assist with processing of invoices and administration of financial processes.
  • Support the Innovation Fund by coordinating grant submissions, distributing materials, and managing project reporting.
  • Handle emails and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Organize and maintain electronic filing systems.
  • Provide general administrative support to leadership and team members.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in an administrative role.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with financial administration processes (invoicing, reporting, documentation).
  • Experience with project coordination and cross‑team support.
  • Comfort with digital tools such as Zoom, Teams, or project‑management software.
