UC ANR’S RESOURCE PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT (RPM) OPERATIONS STUDENT ASSISTANT OPPORTUNITY Join Our Team as a Budget Operations Student Assistant 4!Are you a highly organized individual with an interest in budget operations or business management? UC ANR’s Resource Planning and Management (RPM) team is seeking a proactive student assistant to support in Budget Operations. In this role, you’ll play a key part in driving operational efficiency by managing internal trackers, shaping staffing and funding documentation, and supporting core administrative functions that keep our business systems running effectively.
It’s a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with the behind‐the‑scenes work that powers strategic decision‑making and resource planning.
Additionally, this role offers valuable experience in organizational management and administrative operations, giving you the chance to strengthen your skills while contributing to impactful process improvements in a collaborative and professional setting.

Positions are available in Oakland, California with the opportunity for hybrid remote work.
Who should Apply?Individuals who are:
- Interested in finance, organizational management, business operations, or related fields
- Strong in organizational skills and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word, and Excel); able to quickly learn UC systems
- Enrolled or accepted in an accredited community college, state college, or University (must provide proof of student status) and carrying at least a half‑time course load (6 units)
In addition to evidence of high achievement, Student Assistants are expected to demonstrate:
- A strong work ethic
- Self‑motivation and initiative
- Attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving
- The ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and build professional credibility
- Support data entry and updates to staffing, funding, and operational tracking tools (60%)
- Assist with process documentation and formatting internal reports (15%)
- Contribute to workflow improvements and maintain internal process documentation (15%)
- Participate in team meetings and assist with light administrative tasks (10%)
Conditions:
- This is a temporary position with flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments
- Position is up to 40% FTE (approximately 16 hours/week); pay rate is $18.20 per hour
- Must pass a background check and DOJ fingerprinting
- As of January 1, 2014, ANR is a smoke‑and‑tobacco‑free environment
- Must comply with the University of California Policy on Vaccination Programs and other applicable public health directives
