This is a new role that will be responsible for meeting a variety of needs across Two Roads. The Accounting Specialist’s primary responsibility is to provide relief for teams going through a transition period or experiencing an unexpected surge in workload. This is an important role for helping us maintain work/life balance for our teams. This role will have limited permanent clients to support so they always have ample capacity to support the team.

Team Support as Needed
- Temporary Bookkeeper and Accounting Coordinator Backfill
- Be available to step in a perform day to day responsibilities for either Bookkeepers or Accounting Coordinators as needed. The goal would be to reduce the burden on the Team Leads when a team member is out unexpectedly or we are going through a transition.
- Help step in and cover work during crunch time, such as producing 1099's at yearend, reviewing financials for yearend, or complete Quality Reviews to help a Team Lead.
- Client Projects
- Be available to help with project work for clients as needed. This could be a cleanup project for an existing client, assistance in researching software to fit a specific client need, or more.
- Onboarding Cleanup
- Support the team with client onboarding cleanup as needed.
- Help conduct internal training in collaboration with Team Leads.
- Serve as a mentor for onboarding and development of new team members.
- Be a resource and example for software best practices.
- Act as the Controller for a subset of clients on an ongoing basis.
- This could grow over time and develop into a full time Controller role
- Internal Communication
- Maintain a timely, same-day to early next day response time with team members, including Slack messages and Email communication
- Maintain Clickup tasks with the correct status of your tasks
- Use Clickup comments for communication with team members on tasks (rather than Slack or email)
- Keep relevant team members informed on client project/cleanup work that you are supporting them on so they are not in the dark
- Participate in the monthly team meeting
- 412 All-staff monthly meeting
- Inform Bookeeper and Team Lead of vacation or time away (refer to PTO guidelines on intrasite)
- Client Communication
- 9-5 EST availability for cleint support
- Maintain a timely, same-day to early next day response time
- Be responsive to client phone calls
- Be the primary email contact for questions from the client
- Be available for remote meetings with the client as needed
- Responsive to clients and teammates Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm EST via email and phone

Friendly, helpful, and humble
Minimum Level of Education Required2 year degree (AA, AS, etc.)
Experience Level4+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Location RequirementMust be in Eastern or Central time zones
