Position OverviewPractus seeks a highly motivated professional to add to our Accounting Team. The candidate will regularly interface with, and report directly to our Firm Administrator and accounting Team and work directly with firm attorneys and other professional staff.
This candidate will be involved in the daily:
- Data Entry of A/R, A/P, and client expense reimbursements;
- Assisting with collections efforts and reconciling payments as requested;
- Works with attorneys and staff as appropriate to facilitate accounting processes;
- Creates and reviews accounting reports as appropriate;
- Ensures all required backup documentation for expenses are submitted when required;
- Responds to Attorney billing and collection questions and inquiries by researching the facts, determining the status of the issue, taking required actions, and responding in an accurate and timely manner;
- Creates and distributes ad hoc accounting reports as requested;
- Performs other duties in the accounting department as assigned.
- At least 3-5 full years of experience in accounting in a legal services setting;
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with willingness to take initiative to research and solve issues that arise;
- Excellent computer skills and comfortable working as a remote employee, with proficiency with the entire Microsoft Office Suite. Legal accounting experience required and Pro Law specific experience STRONGLY preferred
- Self-starter with high comfort level working remotely in a virtual environment
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail and follow through;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads is a must
- Ability to demonstrate professional discretion and sound judgement
- Work effectively under sometimes stressful (time-sensitive) conditions
- Strong sense of accountability
- Passion about work, and excited to take on new challenges
