The OpportunityThe Controller will lead the accounting function with a heavy emphasis on cost accounting and inventory management. This role is central to ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting in a manufacturing environment.
This is a high‑impact position for someone with a deep understanding of inventory, cost flow, and manufacturing accounting, who can both assess how things should be done and implement those practices in a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, AR, AP, payroll coordination, and banking
- Own and oversee cost accounting and inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation, cost flow, and margin visibility
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Partner closely with operations to understand production, inventory movement, and cost drivers
- Develop and improve standard costing, inventory controls, and variance analysis
- Drive process improvements, automation, and internal controls across accounting workflows
- Support ERP optimization and future system upgrades
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Strengthening cost accounting methodology and inventory accuracy
- Improving visibility into product costs, margins, and inventory balances
- Audit readiness and financial controls
- Reducing manual processes through automation
- Supporting system and reporting enhancements
- Enabling growth initiatives through better cost and inventory insight
- CPA preferred
- Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting and inventory accounting
- Proven experience managing audits and financial reporting
- ERP experience required
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to assess existing processes and implement improvements
- Comfortable operating in a growing, evolving manufacturing environment
