Remote Bookkeeper (UK Accounts) required in Cape Town
You’ll be the financial backbone of a rapidly expanding professional services firm, managing bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of UK-based clients from the comfort of your South African home.
Supporting corporate, legal, and tax & accountancy advisory work premium-level stuff that punches well above what you’d expect from a firm of this size.
Salary: R40 000 per month.
What you’ll be doing- Recording financial transactions, reconciling bank accounts, posting journals, and keeping financial records accurate and current
- Managing VAT returns with confidence in UK VAT rules and compliance requirements
- Building strong client relationships as the main point of contact for your portfolio, meeting deadlines and advising on record keeping
- Working with cloud accounting tools like Dext and Xero to streamline processes and maintain best practice
- Preparing clean year-end files and supporting the accountants with accounts preparation, ensuring everything meets UK compliance and quality standards
- Collaborating across the wider team to deliver a seamless, high-quality client experience
You’ll have proven bookkeeping experience in an accountancy practice environment with strong UK expertise—particularly VAT preparation and compliance. Daily hands-on experience with Dext and Xero is essential, and you’ll need relevant bookkeeping qualifications.
You’re detail-oriented, organised, and a confident communicator who builds genuine relationships with clients and colleagues. You’re proactive, eager to develop your skills, and genuinely committed to doing the right thing and celebrating the differences in your team.
