Location: New York

4 days in office
- Fridays work from home

3–5 years of relevant experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the complete accounts payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, approval workflows, and payment processing
  • Ensure vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports are processed accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, company policies, and GAAP for all AP activity
  • Keep vendor records updated, including W‑9 documentation and payment terms
  • Reconcile the AP subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  • Serve as the main contact for vendor questions, payment issues, and account resolution
  • Build and maintain vendor relationships while negotiating favorable payment terms
  • Partner with internal teams, such as Project Management and Operations, to resolve PO or invoice inconsistencies
  • Prepare AP‑related reports including aging summaries, cash requirements, and accruals
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close activities related to AP
  • Ensure compliance with sales tax rules, 1099 reporting needs, and audit requests
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of hands‑on Accounts Payable experience
  • Strong proficiency in AP systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities
  • Experience with in the commercial furniture or construction industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with automated AP workflows and digital invoice management systems
  • Knowledge of New York State tax and compliance requirements preferred
