Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant supports the Controller in the day-to-day work related to cost accounting, various inventory related items, fixed assets and journal entries. They also participate in the month-end close process, prepare account reconciliations, and participate in projects as assigned. They will also have an opportunity to support the Director of Cost Accounting, the Corporate Controller and North American entities within the Taco Family of Companies.
Measuresof Success
- Completes reconciliations timely and accurately
- Completes journal entries timely and accurately
- Follows procedures as defined and in the timeline established
- Daily tasks as defined are completed daily
- Follows the monthly close schedule
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support daily inventory cost roll and production job closing function
- Supports monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for Taco Comfort Solutions to accurately report results within 5 business day closing cycle.
- Complete reconciliations and journal entry postings as assigned.
- Support the Controller by assisting in plant performance analytics and analysis of anomalies and variances to enable the plant to address issues and improve performance.
- Support the annual financial statement audit.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Proficiency in MS Office applications required, including intermediate-to-advanced level Excel skills
- Organized and detail-oriented with excellent customer service and communication skills
- Possesses a sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Travel: may be requested to attend conferences or other company locations
Preferred:
- 1-2 years of experience related to accounting or finance
This position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.
May work from home up to 2X/week if performance is in good standing.
This position has no direct reports.
