We are seeking a driven Director of Accounting / Controller to lead and elevate the accounting function across a complex, multi-business-unit e-commerce organization with in-house manufacturing & distribution. This is a high-impact role partnering closely with executive leadership to ensure financial integrity, operational rigor, and scalable infrastructure as the business grows. The ideal candidate brings deep intellectual curiosity about how the business truly works and not just how it books entries, taking extreme ownership over accuracy, timelines, and outcomes.

They approach every close, report, and forecast with discipline, precision, and a refusal to let details slip through the cracks.

• Serve as the primary cross-functional leader for Accounting, proactively partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, Brand, and Technology to ensure financial accuracy, alignment on business initiatives, and disciplined execution across all entities
• Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Ensure accurate and timely consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
• Oversee GL, AP, AR, payroll, cost accounting, and intercompany reconciliations
• Maintain a strong internal control environment
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Deliver clear, actionable reporting packages to executive leadership
• Own external audit process and relationships
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements (in coordination with external advisors)
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting and rolling forecasts
• Provide accounting insights into margin, inventory, revenue recognition, and cash flow
• Manage and develop a team of four accounting professionals

• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience preferred
• BS in accounting or finance a must, CPA or MBA strongly preferred
• Experience in e-commerce, retail, consumer products, or inventory-based businesses
• Experience managing multi-entity / multi-business unit structures
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and inventory accounting
• Proven track record of improving processes and shortening close cycles

• Hybrid - This role is required to be onsite at our Passaic, NJ warehouse 2-3 days a week.
