Staff Accountant

Dallas, TX (4 days onsite, work from home Fridays)

One of Vaco's privately-held, billon-dollar clients is looking to add several Staff Accountants to the team due to growth of the company. The current CAO is a client Vaco has worked with for years, specifically helping them to build out the accounting team at a previous company - people have absolutely loved working with them and we've received great feedback on the type of culture and leadership on their teams.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of general ledger entries.
• Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and statements.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
• Assist with the preparation of year‑end financial statements and audit schedules.
• Assist in the preparation of budget reports and forecasts.
• Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and reports.
• Identify areas of opportunity for improving accounting processes and workflows.
• Participate in the implementation of new accounting software or systems when applicable.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or working towards CPA is a plus.
• 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, Great Plains, etc.) preferred.
