About the Role:

Foresite Commercial Real Estate is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Virtual Assistant to support our commercial real estate accounting team. In this role, you will handle day-to-day property accounting tasks within our property management software platforms, primarily App Folio and Yardi. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in accuracy, works well within a team, and wants to grow within a stable, long-term remote position.

You'll Be Doing:

You will be responsible for a variety of recurring accounting and administrative tasks, including downloading utility invoices from vendor portals and uploading them into App Folio with the proper coding, posting tenant utility charges, and coding recurring expenses such as landscaping and trash services. You will create and manage tenant payable batches and utility charge batches in Yardi, post tenant receipts and loan payments, save and organize monthly reporting packages, download bank statements, and perform bank account reconciliations.

Skills & Technical Requirements:
  • Prior experience in bookkeeping, property accounting, or a related accounting support role is required
  • Hands-on experience with App Folio and/or Yardi is strongly preferred; candidates who are new to these platforms must demonstrate a strong ability to learn software quickly
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for basic data entry and reconciliation tasks
  • Strong typing speed and accuracy (minimum 45–55 WPM preferred)
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles including accounts payable, bank reconciliations, charge coding, and batch processing
  • Comfortable navigating online vendor and utility portals to download invoices and statements
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional remote work environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus but not required
  • Prior experience supporting a U.S.

    -based real estate or property management company
  • Familiarity with commercial real estate terminology and accounting workflows
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual team environment across time zones (scheduled working hours will align with an 8:00 am - 5:00 pm timeline in the Central Standard Timezone)
