Professional Services Accounting Lead

CFS has partnered with a rapidly expanding Professional Services tech company in search of a Professional Services Accounting Lead to take full ownership of all financial lifecycle of the business.

As our client's software footprint expands, their services—implementations, training, and custom work—require a dedicated lead to ensure they're billing accurately, recognizing revenue according to GAAP (ASC 606), and providing the executive team with the data needed to scale.

• Revenue Recognition & Invoicing: Manage the end-to-end invoicing process for services. Ensure complex revenue recognition (Milestone-based, Time & Materials, or Fixed Fee) is recorded accurately under ASC 606.
• Backlog & Pipeline Tracking: Maintain the source of truth for our Services Backlog. You will track what has been sold but not yet delivered to help the team predict future resource needs.
• Performance Metrics (KPIs): Develop and report on weekly/monthly metrics including Utilization Rates, Project Margins, Billable vs. Non-Billable ratios, and Average Hourly Realized Rates.
• Operational Integration: Partner with Project Managers to ensure time-tracking is disciplined and that project "health" is reflected in the financial forecast.
• Process Improvement: You will be tasked with auditing our current workflow and recommending/implementing tools or processes that can scale with the business.

• Experience: 5+ years in a Finance or Accounting role specifically within Software/SaaS Services or a Professional Services firm.
• Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with ASC 606 and revenue recognition for multi-element arrangements (software + services).
• Systems: Expert-level Excel/Google Sheets skills are a must. Experience with PSA (Professional Services Automation) tools is a major plus. Experience with Quickbooks online and Hubspot also a major plus.
