Lead Technical Accountant

• Provide technical accounting guidance and maintain accounting policies for clarity and consistency
• Lead key components of annual financial audits and prepare audit support schedules
• Support the preparation of Form 990 by gathering data and ensuring accuracy
• Research and document conclusions on new accounting standards and lead implementation
• Review and enhance internal controls over financial reporting

• Active CPA license or equivalent international certification with strong US GAAP experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus 8+ years of relevant experience
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, nonprofit accounting, and financial reporting concepts
• Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and internal controls
• Proven ability to assess accounting issues and communicate recommendations clearly

• Experience supporting audited financial statements and/or Form 990 preparation
• Strong time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines
• Proven ability to document accounting conclusions in technical accounting memos
• Familiarity with COSO standards for internal controls
• Experience collaborating with various departments including Finance and Legal
