GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Client Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions within the Business Management and Personal Accounting division of the Family Office. This role requires applying professional accounting knowledge, exercising independent judgment, and managing complex financial activities across a diverse client base. The Client Accountant ensures the accuracy and integrity of client financial reporting, partners closely with client advisory teams, and supports broader departmental goals through advanced analysis and problem-solving.
This is a hybrid position that will be four days in the office and one day working from home.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely distribution to client advisory teams.
- Perform and review monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies using professional judgment; reconciling investment activity and month end investment balances on cost and FMV basis.
- Prepare quarterly Payroll Tax Returns and Sales Tax Returns in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Create and review adjusting tax journal entries and ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation.
- Conduct additional reconciliations, financial analyses, and reporting as needed based on client or advisory team requests.
- Collaborate with client advisory teams on complex client matters, offering accounting expertise and guidance.
- Oversee timely bill payment processing and ensure proper internal controls are followed.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting and bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in Quick Books required.
- Investment accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and related software tools.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to apply advanced accounting knowledge, exercise sound judgment, manage deadlines, and work effectively with clients and advisors at all levels.
