Job Summary
Under supervision, the position performs professional accounting and financial duties for UC Davis Health and supporting the general accounting for the Shared Services Center. Under direction, plan, develop and coordinate professional financial analysis and have broad knowledge of general ledger and budgetary systems, accounting, and healthcare financial practices. Process transactions and provides analyses as part of the centralized shared services support to operational units.
Prepare financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to variance analysis reports, financial statements, and other ad-hoc financial reports for presenting to various levels of personnel, from departmental staff to senior management. Provides support to improve finance processes. Acts as a general accounting liaison to various departments on an assortment of multifaceted projects, including system implementations, process designs and redesigns, and financial system training.
Prepares workflows and recommendations to assist the organization in improving Health System general accounting recording and reporting.

- Associate degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience and training required
- 2-5 years in a technical accounting position
- More than one (1) year of accounting experience required
- Intermediate experience with general ledger accounting transactions
- Knowledge of accounting-related skills
- Knowledge of financial transactions and financial systems
- Knowledge of GAAP theories and practices
- Knowledge analysis of moderate accounting projects
- Strong MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio. Intermediate skill set in Microsoft Excel, including (but not limited to) Pivots, Sumifs, IFs, and Vlookups.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in use of common desktop/web applications
- Ability to apply more advanced accounting concepts in the completion of assignments
- Ability to gather, organize and perform
- Ability to Share information with and receive information from customers and colleagues using effective, clear, persuasive and audience-appropriate verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

- CPA license or CPA candidate desired
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2 to 3 years accounting experience desired
- 50% - Shared Service Accounting, General Ledger, and Reporting

- 10% - Communication, Development, Documentation and Education
- 10% - Process Research, Design, Redesign and Documentation
