Heylist is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Accounting Clerk to support our growing operations. In this role, you’ll help keep our financial processes running smoothly by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely processing of transactions.

The Role

You’ll work closely with our internal team and external accounting partners to support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general administrative duties. As a key support to our operations, you’ll help build reliable systems, maintain accuracy, and strengthen the foundations that enable consistent and scalable growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Enter and verify vendor and customer invoices.
  • Prepare and issue payments (cheques, direct deposits, wire transfers).
  • Follow up on accounts receivable and accounts payable, and contact clients as needed.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in preparing journal entries and monthly reports.
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy of financial transactions in the accounting system.
  • Prepare expense reports and verify supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with the accounting firm or controller for month-end and year-end close.
  • Keep financial records and administrative documents up to date (electronic or paper filing).
  • Participate in preparing documents for internal or external audits.
  • Run payroll and manage collective insurance for employees.
  • Support day-to-day administrative activities and assist with general office tasks.
You’ll Excel If You
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in accounting and administrative support.
  • Hold a college diploma in accounting or a related field.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency with Excel and good knowledge of other accounting tools.
  • Bring rigor, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Show excellent professional ethics, transparency, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Are fully bilingual, both spoken and written.
