Prince William Sound College is recruiting an Accounting Fiscal Technician for the Valdez, Alaska Campus.
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills to manage systems, procedures, and accounts across a variety of funding sources, including unrestricted funds, grants, contracts, private and special funds, and revenue accounts. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of fiscal and purchasing policies, rules, and regulations, as well as experience using automated accounting systems, specialized software, databases, and spreadsheets to query, maintain, and analyze data.
Responsibilities include compiling and summarizing financial information, preparing reports, and applying in-depth knowledge of accounting functions such as accounts receivable, general ledger, and program and activity codes. The role requires the ability to work effectively with complex systems and accounts, build strong working relationships while maintaining high ethical standards, meet deadlines in high-pressure environments, lead and resolve issues, and collaborate effectively within a team.
One year of college coursework in Accounting or related field and one year of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Position DetailsThis position is located on the Prince William Sound College campus in Valdez. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage.
New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 76, based on education and experience.
