Job DescriptionAccounting Technician & Bookkeeper (Onsite)
Responsible for end-to-end bookkeeping and payroll functions, ensuring accurate data entry, timely payroll runs, and compliant HST/corporate tax remittances. Owns Quick Books data integrity and reporting so financial statements and remittance filings are audit-ready. Works independently with strong attention to detail and calm performance under recurring deadline pressure, and helps optimize routine processes where appropriate. Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping system (Quick Books), prepare financial and accounting reports.

SalaryOnsite full-time position: $45,000-$58,000 CAD based on experience. Onsite required unless upper management approves occasional remote work.
Timeline & UrgencyURGENT. Hiring is triggered by an employee leaving and the new hire must start immediately to ensure payroll, remittances, billings and month-end tasks continue without disruption.
EducationCollege, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma.
ExperiencePreferable 5 years experience in accounting.
Must Have- Demonstrated Quick Books mastery – daily hands‑on experience: setting up transactions, troubleshooting entries, running and customizing reports (esp. HST/GST and payroll reports), and understanding how entries flow to financial statements.
- Proven payroll & remittance execution – end-to-end payroll processing and timely CRA remittances/HST filings with zero critical errors; able to describe step‑by‑step payroll and remittance workflows.
- Independent bookkeeping ownership – consistently works without supervision, owns daily tasks (data entry, billings reconciliations, remittances), and meets tight recurring deadlines reliably.
- High attention to detail with data‑entry speed – accurate, high‑volume data entry in Quick Books/Excel and able to produce error‑free spreadsheets/reports used for HST and tax remittances.
- Composure under pressure – demonstrated ability to stay calm and accurate during payroll/tax crunch cycles (evidence via examples or references).
- Excel and Word Perfect proficiency – can build/maintain spreadsheets for reconciliations and reporting, and produce/format documents in Word Perfect when required.
