* Assist in establishing procedures and processes in relation to all aspects of hotel accounting and manages the execution of strategy and direction for hotel accounting.
* Interface with stakeholders from other departments (Legal, Tax, Asset Management, FP&A).
* Manage the interactions with the hotel accounting team including that of third-party managers.
* Review the accounting activities associated with hotel operating activity, including proper recording of fees, working capital and intercompany lease expense.
* Perform flux analysis around monthly and annual hotel operating activity, including but not limited to actual, forecast, and annual budget data.
* Review balance sheet reconciliation and journal entries prepared by staff to ensure they are properly documented so an independent reviewer can easily understand the information in order to validate the balances.
* Ensure compliance with legal agreements for the accounting components of the agreements.
* Manage the implementation and maintenance of accounting internal control policies and procedures to ensure the internal control environment is maintained for all aspects of hotel operations accounting and provides supporting documentation to internal and external auditors regarding completion of control procedures.
* Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide requested documentation supporting accounting transactions.
* Disseminate, organize and communicate regarding assignments and projects within the department and with senior leaders/constituents from other departments.
* Implement and manage team goals to ensure strategies and directives of department are carried out and in accordance with department and company objectives.
* Mentor and develop all direct reports.
* Perform any other responsibilities, routine or ad-hoc, as required by the department or the company.
* This is a full-time,
** on-site position
** located in McLean, VA, with a schedule of
** Monday–Thursday in person
** and optional remote work day on Friday. Working one weekend each quarter may be required to meet established deadlines.
* BA/BS/Bachelor's Degree
* 5-7 years of related experience
* Minimum of 5 years experience in leading a team and strong management skills and leading longer-term projects
* Five (5) years of hospitality industry and/or real estate investment trust experience
* Experience working in an accounting environment using  Oracle Cloud and/or Smartview
* MS/MA/Master's Degree
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
* 10+ years of experience
* 2+ years of supervisory experience
