Introduction
The FSSC EMEA Accounting team is located in Veghel (headquarters of Vanderlande) and in Barcelona. The team consists of 18 people. The main goal of the team is to provide high-quality and professional services for the EMEA region. The scope of FSSC EMEA is tax and compliance, credit management, and maintaining/improving financial processes. All regular transactions (processing invoices and bank statements) will be executed by your colleagues in Pune (India).
What will you be doing?
As a Tax and Compliance accountant, you are responsible for that part of the R2R capability that secures local statutory (tax) compliance. You will prepare and review Financial Statements. In this role, you ensure that for group reporting purposes, the figures of the countries in your scope are reliable and (potential) mistakes are identified. You will be using tools like Hubble, JD Edwards, Tungsten, Blackline, and Longview.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be focused on our more complex countries (UK, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain). You will be responsible for:
- Managing VAT – Prepare, Submit, Follow up on VAT declarations
- Managing CIT - Submit income tax declaration, Manage CIT - Adjust income tax charge position
- Process FBT - Calculate FBT costs, Create FBT statement, Submit FBT statement, Determine income tax declaration
- External Financial Statement Activities - Extract trial balance (IFRS), Create adjustments (to local GAAP), Create statutory accounts, Submit statutory accounts, Execute audit request, Check and share audit documentation, Point of contact for auditors.
- Month-end close – Review as a balance owner of a set of companies the month-end figures, identify (potential) misstatements. Ensure that all material misstatements are adjusted or reported during month-end close.
- Month-end close Blackline - Responsible for preparing and approving reconciliations within Blackline
- Align with SME on compliance topics
- Keep up to date on local Compliance & Tax developments
- Execute Tax accounting (e.g. VAT, Sales)
- J-SOX verification
What do we ask from you?
- A Bachelor degree in Accountancy or Business Economics / Business administration;
- >8 years of relevant experience within an international organization or accountancy firm;
- Affinity with Tax rules and regulations;
- Good communication skills;
- Eager to learn;
- You dare to ask questions;
- You are curious in understanding things;
- You understand the accounting principles according to IFRS;
- You are familiar with J-SOX;
- You have knowledge of Excel;
- Fluency in English;
- Knowledge of JD Edwards is an advantage.
