The Urban Gym Group ison the lookout for a sharp-eyed Accounts Payable Specialist witha strong foundation in finance and accounting. Thisisn’tjust about processinginvoices;you’llbe diving into thedetailof accrual accounting,capitalization, prepayments, and month-end close. Your work will help keep our financial reporting spot-on and our internal controls tight across the entire purchase-to-pay cycle.
Key responsibilities- Accounts Payable & Transactional Accounting
- Process supplier invoices accurately and on time, ensuring correct GL coding, VAT treatment, and cost allocation.
- Keep vendor master data up to date and handle supplier queries with professionalism.
- Prepare and post accruals for goods and services received but not yet invoiced.
- Manage prepayments, including set-up,amortisationschedules, and monthly releases.
- Spot and supportcapitalisablecosts (think assets, leasehold improvements, IT kit) and make surethey’retreated correctly in line with policy.
- Help classify costs accurately between OPEX and CAPEX.
- Get involved in month-end close, including reconciliations of AP, GR/IR, accruals, and prepayments.
- Investigate and resolve variances and aged balances.
- Ensure AP-related balances are complete,accurate, and ready for audit.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- 2–4 years’ experience in Accounts Payable, Finance Operations, or Accounting.
- Solid understanding of:
- Accrual accounting
- Prepayments andamortisation
- Capitalisationvs operating expenses
- General ledger principles
- Experience working in a month-end close environment.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g.Net Suite, Exact Globe).
