Job Summary:
We are partnered with a medium-sized full-service CPA firm in Lincolnshire, Illinois, and seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Manager to join our team. This hybrid role offers a blend of in-office and remote work, allowing for flexibility while overseeing tax planning, compliance, and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical tax knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of tax engagements, including tax planning, compliance, and consulting services for a variety of clients.
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, LLCs, and trusts.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Work closely with clients to develop tax strategies that align with their financial goals.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns and compliance-related documentation.
- Research and stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure clients receive the most effective tax solutions.
- Collaborate with other departments within the firm to provide comprehensive financial and accounting services.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and assist in client development and business growth initiatives.
- Participate in firm-wide initiatives such as training, staff development, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- CPA certification required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of tax experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax compliance, planning, and consulting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, Ultra Tax) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with clients in various industries (e.g., real estate, manufacturing, healthcare, professional services).
- Familiarity with international tax issues or multi-state tax compliance.
- Strong business development skills and ability to grow the firm’s client base.
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals.
