SUMMARY:
This position as an Accountant is a full-time hybrid position out of our Baton Rouge office. The Accountant will participate in a variety of accounting and reporting endeavors, including but not limited to reports for management, monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and cash forecasting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
)
- Bachelor’s in accounting or other related business degree required.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or other Deltek software is a plus.
- Experience working within an engineering or professional services-based industry is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working with large amounts of data.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft products, including but not limited to:
Microsoft 365, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required. Advanced knowledge in Excel with proficiency in pivot tables and various lookup functions is preferred. - Experience with payroll and payroll tax is preferred
- Must be able to work with sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.

- Organizing - Able to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
- Owns the preparation of month-end reconciliations and all corresponding reporting.
- Responsible for completion of monthly closing journal entries.
- Assist with project accounting duties, including monthly client invoices and accounts receivable collections. May assist in the preparation and review of special invoices for clients.
- Collaborates with external auditors to facilitate annual financial reviews.
- Manage year-end functions through the support of external relationships for the preparation and filing of annual tax returns and the review of 1099 filings.
- Responsible for the preparation and presentation of financial reports for monthly staff meetings.
- Conducts preparation and review of vendor forms.
- Assists with annual budgeting.
- Develops working knowledge of the company’s ERP system and related financial modules; continuously expands system proficiency to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting.
- Aids Controller on an ad hoc basis.
- Functions as a backup and/or support for Payroll.
- May assist with Accounts Payable duties on an as needed basis.
