Georgia-Pacific is seeking to hire a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role creates value through excellence in financial reporting, business partnering, and process improvement. This role will be responsible for components of preparation of financial information (both on a consolidated basis for GP LLC and for the corporate segment), management reporting, and the monthly close process. The role will also be involved in other specialized accounting areas, such as intercompany accounting, cash management, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting.

The GP Controllers Organization provides support to 125+ manufacturing locations across the US, as well as at our corporate HQ in Atlanta, GA. In this role, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Accounting.

You will be successful by having a passion for learning and being motivated by the value you can bring. Various corporate and intercompany accounting topics are inherent to the work this team does so a strong background in financial accounting is key. Success in this role also requires a strong inclination towards business collaboration and a mindset geared towards process improvement.

This is an onsite role at our GP HQ in downtown Atlanta, GA. While GP offers some remote work flexibility, there is a need for hybrid/weekly in-office presence for this role given the importance of fostering relationships and collaborating across several capabilities. We are seeking local applicants, or candidates that are willing to relocate to the area.

• Own the intercompany billing process, ensuring costs are allocated appropriately to the respective businesses and/or cost centers
• Transform the current process used to bill other Koch companies, that can benefit from automation and optimization
• Participate and review monthly closing activities related to Corporate Accounting areas, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger through proper accounting treatment
• Perform ad-hoc reporting and information gathering to other departments to provide transparency to intercompany costs and balances
• Seek and share knowledge, identify opportunities for improvements, challenge the status quo, propose solutions
• Advance our Principle-Based Management culture by applying and reinforcing the company's Core Values and Principles

• Experience in an Accounting or Finance focused role(s) that demonstrates a working knowledge of financial accounting principles, the general ledger, month end close, account reconciliation and analysis, and the application of internal financial controls

• Corporate Accounting or Financial Reporting experience, especially as it relates to managing intercompany transactions, consolidations, and other complex accounting topics
• Experience driving process improvement or transformation
• Proficiency with extract-transform-load (ETL) tools such as Alteryx to transform/automate processes
